In this episode I speak with Paul McGreevy Professor of Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare Science. If you’ve ever had a difficult conversation with traditional horse people and you’ve wondered how your training methods and beliefs can be backed up by science, then listeners, this is the podcast for you!
Paul has spent 23 years scientifically researching horse behaviour and welfare in both the UK and Australia. He has published 250 peer reviewed papers as well as books on equine and dog behaviour and he is the co-founder and honorary fellow of the International Society for Equitation Science.
He also talks in this interview of his 8 weeks trek on horseback from Victoria to Canberra. So he is not a desk bound scientist, he is a real horseman who has a passion for equitation science and debunking myths that are out there around some methods of training.
I believe it’s important for us as conscious horse people to keep up to date with this kind of science so we can have real conversations with people who think we are all a bit woo woo in our methods. Paul tell me where and how we can access this information and also how we can be a part of the new study they are doing where they are collecting data from all over the world that will help revolutionise horse training the world over.

In this episode I speak with Sarah Schlote. Sarah works in the field of Trauma and Somatic Experience with both those who work in the field of Equine Assisted Therapy, and also horse owners, where she can teach more about trauma, what it is and give you the tools to notice it and find your way through for both you and your horse.
In the last episode I spoke with Anna Collis who works to release trauma from horses herself, in this episode, Sarah and I go deeper into what trauma is and how it can be released from the body using different methods and how you can become a real expert on your horse and their nervous system to assist you in building a deeper connection to your horse through understanding their nervous system needs.
I love that there are so many people working with trauma now and that it’s not some big scary word that sends us all into a spin, it happens and when we continue to talk openly about it, we can find ways through it for both ourselves and our horses.

In this episode I speak with Anna Collis from harmony for Horses. Anna can be called a body worker, but she also supports the release of trauma and locked emotions from you and your horse through a type of therapy called “The Emotion Code”.
By now you will all know why body work is so important, Anna and I speak in this episode about the types of very real traumas that most horses in the world have. Some of them may very well surprise you? And some of them may not!
It’s a great conversation to help you think a lot more from the horse’s perspective on many things to do with emotions and trauma as well as body work. We talk about how trauma gets trapped in the horse’s body, and how Anna is able to release it, with the horse’s permission of course. I hope you find this one interesting, I know I did.

In this episode I speak with Farah DeJohnette. Farah runs a horse property in North Brookfield Massachusetts where she teaches people about Holistic or Whole Horsemanship, where it takes a village to keep your horse happy and healthy and everyone is as important as the next including nutrition, dental, body work and training methods.
Farah is doing an amazing job educating people on all aspects of keeping your horse happy and healthy, but the most important thing we must all begin with, is listening to your horse.
I recorded this at 5am my time so if you are wearing headphones you may hear the Kookaburras waking up and the butcher birds making their morning song, you may even hear my dog snoring in there somewhere.

Jane’s knowledge of nutrition is extraordinary and her level of consciousness around the horses emotional state, and their nervous system and their ability to absorb nutrients, well it’s ground breaking.
I’m so excited to speak to someone like Jayne and have her tell her story for you. Her 3 pillars plus her embodiment of the feminine plus her deep love for horses will hopefully help and support you to make the changes you possibly always thought about, or maybe never considered for your horse. In this episode I speak with Hannah Pikkat from It’s Crunch Time. Hannah is 20 years old and is a serious influencer in the world of social media as you will hear her speak about in the interview.
The amazing part about Hannah is the message she spreads to the world of hundreds of thousands of followers. It is one of kindness, positive reinforcement training, and building a long and lasting partnership with your horse in order to do great things together. I believe the word inspirational is used a little too often these days, but I can assure you that Hannah is the perfect person to be inspiring the next generation of horse people.
Wisdom usually comes from age and experience and I’m not sure Hannah really understands the positive impact she is having on the world. However, Hannah is still a very wise young woman and one to take note of for the future. I for one will delight in watching her grow and see what more she goes on to do to make a positive difference to the horse world.

In this episode I speak with Alexa Linton. Alexa is what this podcast is all about, she is herself bringing consciousness to the horse world through all of her skills which include animal communication, equine sports therapy, kinesiology, BodyTalker, Author and teacher.
